MAGI AND STUART WILSON

Husband and wife team Magi and Stuart Wilson have been nominated for a Pride of Ireland award for their drive to help children in desperate circumstances.

They show kids from all walks of life that they are cared for and loved,by striving to help them emotionally, physically and spiritually. They work with kids from young female prisons in Belarus, child soldiers in Uganda and young girls rescued from prostitution in India.

With the help of their organisation, ‘Zest4kids’, the pair has helped children recover from working in horrendous conditions in Mumbai.
There were numerous nominations received for the married couple, oneof which was from former student Marie Williams who said: “ eir positivity knows no bounds. eir mission statement is simply, ‘love children into a better place’.”

Stuart also runs ‘Second Chance’ projects in Ireland, working with kids who have fallen out of the school system due to drugs, crime or other problems. Speaking about their unique project in Mumbai, Magi said: “We go over for weekly trips a few times a year. Stuart is a counsellor so we do stuff like building them up and development with them. “We help them feel that there is another way, something to hope for.”

JUDGES OPINION

“The fact they love all kids into a better place from all walks of life would bring a tear to your eye. ey are so unique because what they are doing is taking underprivileged kids from Ireland, helping them on the way to recovery and then showing these kids the harsh realities of what other children, living in desperate circumstances around the world, face.”
